Description

This Astrobin Debut Object is a spiral galaxy located 110 million light years away in the constellation of Antlia at a declination of -34 degrees.  It is a magnitude 11 galaxy which spans 3 arc-minutes in our apparent view.  This corresponds to a diameter of 100,000 light years.

From our view perspective, the disk is inclined about halfway between face-on and edge-on.

This galaxy is not barred and has a small bright lens around the core.  The disk appears to have some arm structure but also has some of the hazy disk characteristics of a lenticular galaxy. Overall not a very exciting object and one that will likely remain singly imaged for a long time.
